Carolyn
Maxwell-Khalsa
As a Registered Nurse, trained Massage Therapist, Certified Reiki Practitioner
and Certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher, Carolyn is dedicated to health
and wellness with a focus on preventative care. She is presently providing
Reiki healing (energy balancing) and massage therapy to clients at InnerWorks
Wellness, where she is one of the owners. Her private practice affords
her to provide wellness education and relief to those with discomfort.
She has been a part of the design, training and implementation of massage
for research programs with Casa Colina Rehabilitative Hospital and USC
Social Services Department. She has delightfully taught parents how
to massage their children and infants. Carolyn believes that adults
who model a healthy attitude regarding the body and wellness promote
the same attitude in their children. It is her opinion that our stressful
lives distract us from our mind body awareness, manifesting a disconnection
and adaptation. She is an advocate of healthy touch, breathing, movement
and human connection as a way to balance one's life. Massage and Reiki
therapy not only feels good but also provides many of these essential
human needs in a therapeutic environment. Carolyn's personal path in
health and wellness has been strongly focused in nutrition, massage
and Reiki therapy, Pilates fitness, Kundalini Yoga and meditation. She
has a strong desire to share her innate gifts with others and to be
part of a community that supports health, happiness, peace and prosperity,
especially with other healthcare providers.

Karen
May
Karen's spiritual name is Kartar Kaur, translated as "Lioness/Princess
of God's deeds" — an active, creative principle, applicable to her life,
work, and spiritual practice. She took her first Kundalini yoga class
(taught by an Inner Works teacher) as an undergraduate at Pomona College
in 1987, and now, full circle, teaches where she first experienced the
many benefits of Kundalini yoga. Karen is a K.R.I. certified instructor,
honoring the tradition of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Each
class offers insight into a particular theme, connecting the body, mind,
and spirit, and linking the finite with the infinite. She enjoys dialogue
with students, who have the opportunity to participate in deciding upon
future class themes, depending on local, global, or astrological events,
physical and personal growth goals. She is committed to sharing the ancient
technology — the art and the science — of Kundalini yoga in classes designed
for all levels and abilities.

Patrice
Mobley
Patrice has been a practitioner of yoga for over 30 years. She has been
teaching yoga in the Claremont/Upland community since 1994. Patrice
felt a desire to help others reap the benefits of yoga and began by
teaching Hatha Yoga. Several years later she was introduced to Kundalini
Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan and became certified in that technique
in 1998. In her teaching, Patrice focuses on explaining the techniques
and philosophies that form the core of Kundalini Yoga. In each class
she guides students in performing the techniques correctly in order
to maximize the benefits that each student gains from the experience.
Patrice has spoken on Kundalini Yoga at the Claremont Colleges and at
the Sustainability Seminar for the Regenerative Cooperative in Pomona.
