Our Mission at InnerWorks Wellness Center
embraces, supports and celebrates your desire to be healthy, happy and a vibrant member of your community.

The Programs at InnerWorks - Yoga, Pilates, Meditation, Ayurveda, Bodywork and Somatic-Psychotherapy, facilitate personal growth, healing and wellness.

Our Vision at InnerWorks Wellness Center is to create peace and prosperity
and connection for mutual benefit in the world.

One must find that peace and joy and connection within. Exploring and strengthening that inner connection - to the body, to the mind, to the Spirit,
to the emotional life - provides the foundation for connection with others,
with one's work, with one's passion, with one's mission in life.

Truth There are many ways to approach the truth. Discovering your personal truth requires protected time with your self; with your body at rest and in motion, with your mind in meditation, with all aspects of who you are. We do not pretend to know your truth, your essence. InnerWorks provides the tools and the supportive environment for you to discover and live your truth.

Body Our bodies are so reflective of who we are and how we live our lives. Through exercise, nutrition and massage we optimize our health. Through balancing our glandular system and strengthening our nervous system (core concepts in yoga), we minimize the negative impact of stress and transform the consciousness. The body communicates its needs (our needs) when we listen carefully.

Mind By connecting to the natural rhythms of the body - breath, heartbeat and movement - the mind can be re-trained to concentrate deeply (It always knew how). By personal reflection in a supportive environment, we can remember what is important and move toward that. By following the subtle trails in the mind, we can regularly return to our Essential Self until it becomes so familiar, it is always available.

Emotions Long discounted, considered something to overcome, the emotional life has emerged (in modern research) as central to a healthy, functioning brain and nervous system; central to our capacity to bond with friends and family, basic to our humanity. What everyone wants is simply to be happy. Yet, holding in the body, holding against the experience of anger or fear or grief, blocks our capacity to experience happiness and love and joy. Somatic based psychotherapy works directly with the emotions, as the manifest through the body. Other InnerWorks Programs work to open the body so that emotions can be expressed in a positive manner, in a manner that supports our health and wellness. back

Spirit Yogic philosophy, much like modern physics, talks of an undifferentiated energy from which all that exists is formed. All is vibration. The distinction is at which frequency the vibration occurs. Solid, liquid, gas, sound, light, thought, Spirit are all of the same elemental stuff, vibrating at different frequencies. The pattern is: from the unformed/infinite, to the existence within a form, to the ending of that form and the return to the formless state. All is Divine. Stated from a devotional framework, God is everywhere, in everyone and everything, All of the Creation is Sacred.

Wholeness We are whole, but our daily experience is often fragmented, feeling pulled in different directions. Quiet time with yourself, for yourself, allows your conscious experience of Self to be whole.

Research InnerWorks is a Satellite Research Site for the Southern California University for Health Sciences. We are committed to identifying the underlying benefits of what we offer and its objective value through good scientific research. For example, yoga and meditation have been shown to reduce patient vulnerability to stress related illness, improve sleep, and help in the recovery from addiction. InnerWorks professionals (including a registered nurse and a licensed psychologist) are interested in collaborating with others to demonstrate the value of these low cost, complementary approaches to prevention and to healing.

Collaboration InnerWorks recognizes that the work of creating the inner and outer environments that support Healthy, Happy, Holy living is a very big project. We support the work of others and seek to collaborate with like-minded individuals organizations and groups.

Co-evolution Within each of us is a desire to grow, to become better, however we define that. In yoga, this evolutionary energy is called Kundalini. Evolution occurs in relationship. InnerWorks is committed to supporting this natural tendency toward growth in the individual., the movement of the Kundalini energy. At the same time, InnerWorks itself is in active co-evolution with it's students and clients, its community and its affiliation with kindred organizations. Our evolutionary tract is to better serve your emerging needs for programs and services and support. back
